HOOP YORK CITY | Est. 2018

Hoop York City is a NYC-based brand and collective, founded by Alex Taylor in 2018, with a mission to forge a new path for women to connect and community build through a shared passion for the game of basketball.

While many young women are encouraged to play sports during childhood, it becomes more and more difficult to participate as they get older, due to a lack of safe space or opportunity to engage in healthy competition. Hoop York City looks to fill that void by giving adult women who are former student-athletes and lovers of the game, an opportunity to reconnect with the sport.

While we remain a community centered around providing opportunities for women to play and experience a game from which they traditionally feel excluded, over the years, other domains have become interwoven into the fabric of the organization, including art, fashion, and a commitment to community service.
