Hoop York City is a basketball community created to give women access to welcoming and consistent spaces to play the sport they love while building meaningful friendships that extend beyond it.

Since its inception in 2018, HYC has turned the game into a platform for empowerment by forging a new path for women to connect through hosting curated hoops runs, training sessions, community events, and fostering a vibrant culture that feels unmistakably New York.

Hoop York City was founded by Alex Taylor.

Alex's design background has shaped the visual identity of HYC and inspired the brand’s growing line of apparel and merchandise, a blend of athletic culture, streetwear influence, and intentional storytelling. Every piece is crafted to represent the energy and pride of the community she’s cultivated, merging sport, style, and sisterhood into a unified brand experience.
